For the Love of Dodge Chargers...

Yesterday I received an "Anonymous" tip (likely from a different "Anonymous" than my usual "Anonymous") and --WHOA!

This is what she/he aimed me at:

WHOA!

Regular readers will recall that I've made this car and the Mississauga Transit Enforcement security guards the subject of at least one Blog.

I acquired plenty of pics and video of this Enforcement "302" car. Like this, taken at the Mississauga Transit Square One Terminal.

Now this is unconfirmed --but I've been told that the car was "totalled" in an accident on February 14, 2008. Valentine's Day. But Valentine's isn't the only thing special about February 14, 2008. It was also Donald Barber's trial date with a Mississauga Corporate Security guard and the day that Mayor Hazel McCallion had a conference room named after her at Queen's Park. Here's the February 14, 2008 Blog, RAMBOgate --and Don Barber's "reprieve"

I've made it no secret that I don't appreciate the way The Corporation of the City of Mississauga --especially Mississauga Corporate (City) Security --treat people.

Now it's not like I can go over to Big Yellow and shout:

"HEY! BIG YELLOW! I DON'T LIKE THE WAY YOU AND YOUR PELCOWANX TREAT PEOPLE!"

So I draw cartoons

or have my say using video.

So I was feelin' mega-cranky and indignant after the Our Future Mississauga Community Engagement Visioning Charrette and that inspired me to produce another video which I YouTubed on February 26th.

It shows that same Enforcement "302" car and a security guard gets in, turns on the car (I provide sound effects) and then drives away. The video shows the brakelights redden up and well, I decided to add the sound effects of a screech, crash and shatter-tinkle.

Of course I had no idea at the time that the car had been in a real accident (and totalled) just two weeks before!

MISSISSAUGAWATCH gets considerable traffic on YouTube. and to a lesser extent on Google Video. My "Police Videos" are the most popular.

I'm presenting both "302" car videos here today just to --I don't know, set the record straight. Like, how video can be used for satire and parody. How video is mercifully-therapeutic. How video informs in a way that mere words can't.

Here is/was my response to the "Mississauga Community Engagement Visioning Charrette" --a way to show how the "Unconnected" --yes, people like me-- see Mississauga. YouTube and Google Video give us "Voice" and the Net is our "Community"-of-Choice. So it goes.

But MY it was such a beautiful car! I just had to produce another video, understand?

This next video documents the demise of the Enforcement "302" car. Far as I can figure (and according to Freedom of Information) it had a lifespan of exactly three months. Towards the end of this video (around the third minute), I show "302" the respect it deserves what with white Dodge Chargers being our Peel Regional Police Beasties-of-Preference.

Last, I guess because today's Blog turned into a Dodge Charger "Police Package" Blog, I'll show this video taken at the Burnhamthorpe Courthouse on Day 1 of the Rambo trial. (There were three Peel Regional Police Dodge Chargers all side-a-side and well, talk about a feast for eyeballs.)

Believe it or not I also (inadvertantly) managed to get the Peel Tactical Unit to "show". (What can I say? I just attract 'em...)

That's it.

Funny. But I actually feel Loss today...

UPDATE: Sunday, March 16, 2008.

Just got email and I'm keepin' the writer anonymous. The details this person provided about ENFORCEMENT CAR "302" feels legit. I sense this because some of the details he/she provided about the new Transit Enforcement security guards I've already confirmed through Freedom of Information (FOI).

So --this update on the "302" Dodge Charger.

Recall in the video that I said I'd gotten an Anonymous tip that alerted me that the "302" car got into an accident in the first place. Well, this same source said that he got it from another source that the car was "totalled". Yes, a source of a source --confusing. That's why in the video I kept stressing "unconfirmed".

Today's email from a different Anonymous says that the "302" car car will be "repaired" but that no one "knows how long that will take." So it looks like Repair vs. Replacement. We'll see.

There's other heads-up stuff I got too but at this point, it's time to drop down a couple of Freedom of Informations. Tomorrow...

More to come, once the FOI's come back.

"The impact of the Unconnected can't be underestimated" - Mississauga Visioning Symposium comment (February 23, 2008)

"But other councils made their decisions quickly and with little public interaction. Just this past week, Peel Region set a new speed record. It reportedly voted to go with an LAS investigator, and according to a citizen blogger who videotaped it, they did it in just 14 seconds. According to the same blogger, Mississauga council had the previous record, when it did the same thing in 16 seconds."--Address by André Marin Ombudsman of Ontario (March 6, 2008)

I see by your comment left on the Rambo article by L Rosella that you`re not on Rambo`s visitor list.

I wonder if the lawyer has been misquoted or it may have something to do with having a well known blog.

Maybe a local (without a blog) will attempt to visit him.

Surely Carolyn Parrish isn`t the only one on his list. I wonder if Mayor McCallion can get by Security?

Hey there, Mac's Gang.

Yeah, read the MissyNews article stating that the public could visit Rambo and decided to interview the dog.

Yes, really. "Interview" Rambo. I had my video camera and everything.

Ain't well-known to those Animal Services uniforms, let me tell you.

One admitted that she doesn't do computers. Can't even be sure if the other does The Mississauga News.

'sides, I only aimed them at the MissyNews article and didn't mention my Blog at the beginning.

It was only after I decided to do a bit of "I was here video" inside that one of them asked me what I was doing.

That's when I said that I was documenting my false-crawl visit for a Blog. So it's likely ALL public that they won't let in to see Rambo.

Then again, I've been told by I can't say who that the Mississauga security guards at the Square One Transit Terminal will tell you you can't take pictures.

This particular "source" said that he then informed the guard that he knows the Transit By-Law doesn't restrict photography. The guard got crabby.

So. Was I being fed a line?

Wouldn't be the 80-kabillionth time.

Sure McCallion could. All she'd need is to post some thinly-clad babe near one of the video surveillance cameras and --

Well as long as everyone feels safer, that`s all that really matters.

(Where`s that little icon that allows me to smash my head against a brick wall?)

We did get a bit of good news from one Ontario citizen who took the time to acknowledge the bloggers.
I guess we`re just not "yelling into the wind" as one blogger put it.

I hope this helps one 20 yr old girl keep her chin up.
They can be beat and no one should give up.

Tomorrow will be Dalton McGuinty’s first day back in office after a three month holiday. Robert Benzie, Queen's Park Bureau Chief, would be the closest link between the scrum and having the Bill 132 repelled. You shouldn’t lets these crackpots Frank Mills fellows into these blogs who speak from the tops of his head without confirming and verifying their research .

Man you are right out from the Twilight Zone Mr Mills!
