THIS BLOG ENTRY IS DEDICATED TO DONALD BARBER --a fellow "dredge" [sic] of society"

Don Barber's due in court again. Seems a Mississauga Corporate Security guard --a Supervisor no less, is so fearful of Mr. Barber that she's asking for a Peace Bond against him.

This Blog entry is dedicated to Mr. Barber. My sole purpose today is to show readers why both Mr. Barber and I are standing up to Mississauga Corporate (City) Security and alerting the public.

As readers know, Mr. Barber was arrested by them. I'm prepared to be. Actually I fully expect to be. Neither of us will stand down.

You see, like Mr. Barber, I know about Mississauga Corporate Security guards and like Mr. Barber, I know The Type of individuals who wear municipal security uniforms. I've gotten dozens of Freedom of Informations on them now.

But I've also received emails from municipal corporate security guards directly. It's these emails that truly reveal The Type.

Here. Let me show you

I got into it with an individual who worked for Toronto Corporate Security for five years. Seems he didn't appreciate me giving people the heads up on the difference between a police car and a City of Mississauga RESPONSE UNIT.

thecorporationresponse070417

Or me giving people the heads up on the difference between a Police Service and Municipal Corporate Security Guard Force.

Here's what he wrote:

EMAIL RESPONSE FROM A FORMER TORONTO CORPORATE (CITY) SECURITY GUARD

"... I have worked in Corporate Security for the city of Toronto for five years, as well as being employed by a police force. You seem to be nothing but a malcontent who does nothing with your free time other than harassing security officers and elected officials who are trying to do their jobs. Do you even have a job ?

Security Officers, like the police, deserve respect for doing a tough job few would want. I respect both professions equally. Why do you have such an issue with the city of Mississauga's officers ? My guess would be they didn't put up with your nonsense, and you didn't like it. So now, you dedicate your time and energy to writing letters to the city, and publishing un-funny cartoons on this site.

Why are you so worried about a security "public complaints process"? I'm sure if you follow the rules, you won't have any problems with security officers... and as such, won't have to worry about lodging a complaint. Professional whiners and trouble makers... that's my opinion of people like yourself. Trust me, I saw lots when I worked Corporate security for the City of Toronto.

Yes, the security force is employed to protect the city, its property, facilities, etc. And to be quite honest, I would rather see my tax dollars spent on law enforcement and security than handing out cash to homeless bums, welfare deadwood and other dredges [sic] of society who don't contribute in any meaningful way. And trust me, I pay enough in taxes to have a hell of an opinion."

Just imagine this guy walking up to some "homeless bums, welfare deadwood and other dredges [sic] of society who don't contribute in any meaningful way" and --well, I sure wouldn't want to be a homeless bum, welfare deadwood and other "dredge" of society who doesn't contribute in any meaningful way around something like that.

Please read on.

Just by chance, this week, The Maui Times had a cover story on "homeless bums, welfare deadwood and other dredges [sic] of society who don't contribute in any meaningful way".

"'What Are We Gonna Do With This Guy?'
Local officials are struggling with the question of what to do with mentally ill people who get arrested.

January 24, 2008

The article begins:

"Eighty-five percent of people arrested in the State of Hawai‘i have a problem with drugs or alcohol. One in two arrestees have a mental problem. At least 20 percent of the people currently sitting in jails around the state have severe and persistent mental illness,

For Maui police officers, these numbers—which come from the state Public Safety Department Mental Health Branch Administrator—are staggering. When the cops arrest someone who’s breaking a law—trespassing, a public nuisance, whatever—they have a couple choices. They can cuff ‘em and stuff ‘em, as they usually do. But if they decide the person they’re arresting might suffer from a mental illness, the officers can call the Access Line. "

If Mississauga (Toronto/GTA) is anything like the Hawaii stats, one in two "homeless bums, welfare deadwood and other dredges [sic] of society who don't contribute in any meaningful way" currently sitting in our jails have a mental problem.

If Mississauga (Toronto/GTA) is anything like the Hawaii stats, at least 20 percent of the "homeless bums, welfare deadwood and other dredges [sic] of society who don't contribute in any meaningful way" currently sitting in our jails have have severe and persistent mental illness.

Going back to what this former City of Toronto Corporate Security guard wrote:

"Why are you so worried about a security "public complaints process"? I'm sure if you follow the rules, you won't have any problems with security officers... and as such, won't have to worry about lodging a complaint."

Well, Baby-freakin'-hypocrtical-Boomers think normal people like you don't have to worry about security guards?

From that same Maui Times article:

"“Another problem is dementia,” he said. “It’s on the rise in the community. A ‘Silver Tsunami’ is coming and Maui must be ready to deal with it.”

Harding was referring to the aging baby boomer generation, poised to swell the ranks of the elderly in the community. He cited cases where an elderly person becomes confused or makes a scene, prompting others to call the police. " (Or to call a Municipal Security Guard....)

Readers should know that as a result of the revelations provided by this former City of Toronto Corporate Security guard, I'll be taking the dozens of Freedom of Information forms already filled out for Mississauga Corporate Security and dropping down the identical FOI questions to:

You see I know how far too many "homeless bums, welfare deadwood and other dredges of society who don't contribute in any meaningful way" actually BECOME "homeless bums, welfare deadwood and other dredges [sic] of society who don't contribute in any meaningful way"!

I ask again "QUIS CUSTODIEZ IPSOS CUSTODES? WHO WATCHES THE WATCHERS?"

Freedom of Information confirms that No One does.

And that's mega-fertile breedin' grounds for Municipal EVIL EMPIRES.

Bright Snoop:

Someone needs to sit your critic down and carefully explain to him what "irony" means. He couldn't have provided a better example of why a public complaints process is necessary. Of course, he wouldn't get it.

In his worldview, anyone who gets involved with corporate security is automatically in the wrong, and of course corporate security invariably acts properly and without error, so why is a complaint process necessary? How can you fault that logic? Apparenly, the Corporation of the City of Mississauga sees no error in it.

Frightening, ain't it?

It's looks more like a blast from the past of the old Ford Motor Co. You can have any color you want as lonG as it's black.

What seems off color is the way Hazel's resorting to use security guards as media public relation experts now.

The only uniforms I have are a white tee-shirt so Hazel doesn't back into the ice truck at the Waterfront Festival and a yellow one so she doesn't trip over the microwire at the Port Credit Jazz Festival.

Maybe if I paint the old Buick white they'll throw in the black shirt?
