"Antonio Batista Death-by-Poetry Trial"
On Wednesday June 6th, I attended a special Council meeting hosted by the University of Toronto (Mississauga). At that meeting, City Manager Janice Baker presented the Corporate Report, "Trust, Quality, Excellence" for Mayor and Council to approve.
Ms. Baker's 11-minute-15-second presentation consisted primarly of an 8-minute-11 second video called "Trust, Quality, Excellence". So I settled down to videotape the thing in its entirety. It took all of 30 seconds for me to go "Whoa! I've seen this thing before!"
Sure enough, when I checked my 2006 audiotapes, there was "Trust, Quality, Excellence" with a "May 5, 2006 Mississauga Board of Trade" label on it. Clearly, despite a Municipal Election in between and two new Councillors onboard, this was simply the same ol' 2006 "Trust, Quality, Excellence" video with Parrish and McFadden added for a Council Chambers shot.
Shoddy? Definitely.
However --on the Plus side, you have to give The Big Yellow some credit. Looks like they really do believe in Regurgi--Recycling...
And I do mean 100% Recycling.
Even Baker's comments about the "Trust, Quality, Excellence" video being "unscripted" and "spoken from the heart by Staff" were spoken from her heart back on May Fifth of last year.

Either way, for a lark, I decided to merge this week's "Trust, Quality, Excellence" video footage with May 5, 2006 time-delayed audio --as a reminder that this video was produced perhaps late 2005 and certainly through the early months of 2006.
Late 2005 and early 2006 --why's that important?
That was when Antonio Batista was surfin' The Big Yellow's "Trust, Quality, Excellence" waves by letter and by phone. Context --Clayton Ruby frequently reminded us of the importance of Context. I'll serve up some more.
Context. Yesterday was June 7, 2007 --exactly one year ago, June 7, 2006, Don Barber was kicked out of Council Chambers, arrested --still hasn't seen his day in court --and still hasn't been allowed back.
On Wednesday, the City Manager said that "Trust, Quality, Excellence" was chosen as their corporate values after considerable thought as the three words that best represent their Corporate Values.
"TRUST, QUALITY, EXCELLENCE"
I've developed a theory regarding Corporate Mission Statements... those three words? They telegraph a great deal. Context firmly in place, you are now ready to watch... (drum roll, please)

Funny thing ”Crock Pots“ behind the Salem Witch hunts would come up just when New England State Archeologist’s made discoveries wheat germ buried long ago was the same stuff Lennon and McCartney had fermented a few Chop Sticks lyrics around Charlie Manson’s mental state.
It must have been quite the March 22 2001 porridge party if Big Yellow can’t remember the Mississauga South Trust Quality Excellence attendance records in the “Piano Room” behind the Deb Mathews report.
? I wonder who brought the LSD ?

Not really sure what you're referring to, Abbe. Plus 2001 is before I took any notice of Big Yellow.
To be fair, I don't think anyone would expect Big Yellow to remember everything.
That's what records are for. Records, like letters written/typed into words. Words strung into sentences and sentences into paragraphs...
That kind of thing. Records....
However, Big Yellow deletes, shreds and otherwise doesn't seem to care --or remember, the value of records in helping with institutional memory.
So perhaps it isn't that Big Yellow can't remember. But that Big Yellow's "Record Retention" on your topic of interest expired.

Great job Urs.
It’s an interesting point except what makes this event so unique and important are Peel’s Social Services staffers do remember (and we do know who they are, oh yes we do) officially handing the region’s responsibilities of Peel’s Social Services directly into the 905 Faith Community at this 2001 event, just before Hazel decided she’d have to split from the region in 2002.
The term ”porridge party” originated from old English slang in biblical terms of selling plate dinners to raise funds. Seems inappropriate the Regions United Way for Peel Chair and Board of Governors are trying to balance the region’s social deficit under the Church’s Charities Act because they’re the same laws George Bush used in the expansion between the Needy and the Greedy .
If the bible makes reference to official time lines of BC-AC , Tim Peterson must have gone through hell asking Sister Deb Mathews to bump up Peel’s Fair Share because Minister Pupatello had addressed the regions books were cooked 5 months after the Province funded Peel’s Last supper on March 23 2001 in the first place .
