This- is Mississauga.

Apologies for no Blog entry for a while. We-here decided to spend our time learning to process video better to Google Video and YouTube. We're Good To Go now.

OKAY! Noticed an article in The Mississauga News, "Hazel no fan of multiculturalism at City Hall"
McCMISSNEWSmulti

and having been at the Wednesday meeting when Mayor McCallion made the Nix-Multiculturalism-Yes-to-Integration Speech, I thought I'd weigh in.

Also, this continues to have relevance to Mr. Antonio Batista, who came to Canada in 1964 from his native Portugal, lived in Toronto untll 2001 when he was welcomed into the welcoming arms of The Corporation of the City of Mississauga.

So let's start straight off with the video (the rest of the Blog explains ...everything). I dedicate this video to Mr. Antonio Batista with special acknowledgement to "Guitar Man" who provided satirical guitar. I call this video --

"TO CLAYTON RUBY WITH THANKS"

SOURCE of Information:

I found a paper "Urban Governance in Multicultural Canada: A Social Diversity Interpretation" by Dr. Kristin Good, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, Dalhousie University" presented in early May, 2007. Yes, 2007.

Here is what Dr. Good had to report about Mississauga.

"The City of Mississauga and the City of Brampton have both been unresponsive to the demographic changes in their populations. The only responses to diversity in Mississauga that one could possibly mention in this context are the Mayor’s annual multicultural breakfast and an annual multicultural festival called Carassauga. Similarly, the City of Brampton holds an annual multiculturalism festival called Carabram as well as an annual “multi-faith” breakfast with the Mayor."

Here is the actual "Urban Governance in Multicultural Canada: A Social Diversity Interpretation" pdf if you're interested.

Dr. Good had something else to offer.

I know --negative Mississauga news. Quelle surprise. But it's only one noise from one Assistant Professor and what does she know? And yes, I bet the interviews she conducted were people with a gripe against The Corporation. Can't possibly take this professor seriously.

I mean who are you going to believe? One professor interviewing a bunch of people you don't even know or The Corporation of the City of Mississauga's Successes 2006 Report??

For anyone thinking I "cooked" that first video, we'll provide the raw "Multicultural Debate" footage once we've posted it to YouTube and Google Video. It won't even have Guitar Man's splendid guitar riffs to kill the pain.

10:00 PM. AS PROMISED:

Raw footage of the Multicultural Debate at the Wednesday, May 30, 2007 General Committee Meeting. Councillor Carolyn Parrish, Mayor Hazel McCallion and George Carlson (Acting Mayor)

It raises the same point Jennifer Goulin made on Duffy’s research on satires .

We’ve already done the math and same impact studies over and over through our own local community forums (such as PPAG’s Mississauga South March 23 2001 referendum) featuring our entire cast of (anonymous ) regional civil servants, directors and multi cultural church groups, except all the relative items like the “Shut Down” of “Brampton Water Fountains “ gets filtered out before the actual final submissions were applied in the actual Impact Studies.

It’s the omissions of these little pertinent facts like the “The Region had shut down water fountains” because the procedure acted as the main diode for the pooling mechanism ” was not what “Big Yellow” wanted to hear.

As a one big 10 year culture shock, Justice Sidney Linden just wrapped up the entire conclusion behind the Common Sense Revolution Frazer Institutes charade with one single phrase concerning the pooling of us non natives.

I think we all would have been tossed out of J.J. Keaney’s court room 105 if Clayton Ruby having said that! even the case!
